Patient assessment: think about issues that need to be identified that are important. Warts are benign (harmless) tumors caused by hpv. Hpv is infecting humans and is transmitted via person to person or contaminated surfaces. Warts affecting keratinocytes of epidermis tissue thickening & hyperkeratinization. Treatment required if warts persistent, cause pain, embarrassing or interfere with movements. Immunocompromised (organ transplant recipient, hiv: environments with virus contaminated surfaces (swimming pool decks, public showers, what drugs cause problem & mechanisms of reactions, palliating factors- what makes it better. Contain thrombosed capillaries black dot in center of lesions. Pinpoint bleeding may occur if lesion is debrided. Mosaic warts cluster of warts: quantity. Skin striations run around wart, rather than through it. R- region & radiation: region of involvement & distribution. Plantar warts (verrucae plantaris) are on soles of feet. Back of heel or on foot where abrasive/rough. If viruses does not die, untreated warts can spread to other sites: radiation to other areas.
