Aristotle agreed with plato that there is a general concept of horse and that no real horse matches the ideal. Cognition study guide #2 his theory of computation suggested that a machine by shuffling 0s & 1s, could simulate any conceivable algorithm (mechanical procedure) We are making ourselves dependent on computers and machines cognitive powers figured out how to design a programmable computing device now known as a universal turing machine. Failing the test proves nothing: turing said men, women and computers think in different ways but if one can think in one"s own peculiar style well enough to imitate a thinking being then they are deemed intelligent. Designed the test to be a philosophical conversation-stopper. There is a misapplication of the test: turing recognized the bias that people have and devised a screen that would only let through a sample that mattered the capacity to understand and thinking cleverly about challenging problems.
