Recent studies suggest that we have an individual self, relaional self, and collecive self. Complexity refers to the number of disinct and important roles or ideniies that people perceive about themselves (ex. Self-concept has low complexity when the individual"s most important ideniies are highly interconnected (ex. Internal consistency high ic exists when most of the individual"s self-perceived roles require similar personality traits, values, and other atributes. Low consistency occurs when some self- percepions require personal characterisics that conlict with characterisics required for other aspects of self. Clarity the degree to which you have a clear, conidently deined, and stable self-concept.
