Moivaion: forces within a person that afect his/her direcion, intensity, and persistence of voluntary behaviour. Moivaion exists within people, not their actual behaviour. Direcion: path along which people steer their efort. Intensity: amount of efort allocated to the goal. How much you push yourself to complete task. Persistence: coninuing the efort for a certain amount of ime. Ability: natural apitudes and the learned capabiliies required to successfully complete a task. Apitudes and learned capabiliies are elements of a broader concept called competencies, which are characterisics of a person that result in superior performance. A good match of a person"s abiliies and job requirements results in higher performance and well being.
