Organizational behaviour is also a function of people"s personalities. Personality is the relatively stable set of psychological characteristics that influences that way an individual interacts with his or her environment and how he or she feels, thinks, and behaves. An individual"s personality summarizes his or her personal style of dealing with world. Personalities are reflected in the distinctive way that they react to people, situations, and problems. Personality consists of a number of dimensions and traits that are determined in a complex way by genetic predisposition and by one"s long-term learning history. Personality is stable; however, it can change through adult learning experiences. During wwii, the use personality tests for the selection of military personnel became widespread. This approach in ob is known as the dispositional approach because it focuses on individual dispositions and personality. According to this approach, individuals possess stable traits or characteristics that influence their attitudes and behaviours.
