Sensory neurons pick up sensory information. Interneurons they relay that information to the central ns. Motor neurons neurons that are on the muscles. Central ns (the brain and spinal cord) where the deep decisions are made. Peripheral ns (automatic and somatic) transmitting those decisions to the brain and the rest of your body. Autonomic actions that happen subconsciously/reflexively whether we command it do it things or not. Makes sure proper nutrients are being fed to the body (long term survival). Sympathetic responsible for the fight-or-flight response- pumping oxygen to the muscles, increased heart rate, and dilated pupils - response that prepares body for action (short term survival). Warns threat to the body which causes stress. Somatic when we/brain consciously command our body to do something. The signals that they can send or either excitatory or inhibitory. Excitatory neurons: positive charges fire up a neurons and transmits signals to other neurons. A neuron sends impulses it its neighbouring neurons.
