Personality traits: habitual patterns of thinking, feeling and behaviours; how a person is most of the time. Helps predict how a person may behave in different situations. Gordon allport tallied 18,000 words that be used to describe traits. Barnum effect= when a person believes that a personality test actually describes who the, even though it a(cid:272)tually does(cid:374)"t. This happens because statements are fairly general and can be applied to a lot of people.
