Document Summary

Research problems, questions, literature review, sampling, measurement, and. Research problems consist of three components: context, significance, and purpose (research problem statement) Relationship among target population, sampling frame, and sample. Sampling procedures in quantitative studies, two main types of sampling: random sampling and non-random sampling. Random sampling, simple random, systematic sampling, stratified random (proportional and disproportional), cluster sampling. Non-random sampling: convenience, purposeful, and quota sample. The research question must reflect the purpose of the study. The literature reviewed will show gaps, or what is missing or supporting the question and topic. It gives an idea of what"s been done before. Sometimes, hypothesis are implied in the research question even if it is not clearly stated. Discussion of results will answer research question, and either accept or reject the proposed hypothesis. Relate findings to literature review and compare results. Results will either support what"s been found before, or offer new perspectives. Signify the so what? and limitations of the research, and conclude.
