Background and context
The rate of replication is a factor that is highly dependent on the efficiency of enzymes. Time taken to replicate a genome depends on the length of the genome. A longer genome takes more time to replicate than a shorter genome, keeping the enzymes constant. The length of the genome in prokaryotes is less in comparison to eukaryotes.
