Assimilation: a conservative process, whereby people fit new information into the belief system the yal realy process. Accommodation: a creative process whereby people modify their belief structure based on experience. E. g. when they realize boys can have long hair too. The sensorimotor stage: living in the material world. No ability to form abstract mental representations.
