Others showed that x-rays could cause cancer in humans in 1914. 1915: yamagiwa and ichikawa (japanese) produced skin cancer by putting coal tar on rabbit ears. 1930: kennaway and co-workers isolated polycyclic hydrocarbons from coal tar through fluorescence. 1938: hueper showed that 2-naphthylamine caused bladder cancer when given to dogs. 1961: liver cancer was a large issue in england and caused death in young turkeys, ducks, and chickens. The cause was peanut meal as poultry feed and the peanuts had a fungus (aspergilus flavus) on them which produced aflatoxin (carcinogen)
