Chapter 18 ethics and socially responsible marketing. Marketing activities are directly in the eye of the public which is why we have to focus on ethics. Create an ethical climate in the workplace: create a code of ethics because this guides decision making and behaviour, top management must be committed to establishing an ethical climate. People are the product of their culture, upbringing, genes, and other influences so what is ethical to one person may not be to someone else. There is usually a trade-off: i. e. launch the product with the flaw or fix it and lose your bonus. Voluntary actions to address the ethical, social, and environmental impacts of your business. The employees within the organization must act in a socially responsible manner for csr to be possible individual actions lead to collective actions by the firm. Csr = supporting non-profit groups, supporting minority activities, following responsible marketing, sales, and production practices.
